On Thursday 24th November, we welcome Devon from the Lake District School of Massage, who will provide a free hands on health massage workshop for over 55’s.
Hands-on health is a massage workshop, which teaches you effective ways to relieve back tension, at home. The workshop is great for relieving niggling shoulder knots, and to help release a build-up of stress.
In the session, you will learn self-massage techniques and basic exercises to target upper back tension. You will then be guided on how to carry out a mini home massage treatment.
The style of massage you learn is called seated acupressure. It’s carried out over clothes, with the recipient sat on a chair. This makes it convenient for any setting.
Seated acupressure is a powerful and soothing type of massage, yet it is very easy to carry out. You will be shown how to use your forearm and elbow to massage shoulders, which saves your hands from fatigue.
By the end of the session, you will have learnt some ways to reduce you back pain at home, alone, or with a partner. You will also have received a massage in the process! This is set to be a not-to-be missed, rewarding and relaxing experience, with take-home value.
On: Thursday 24th November 2.00pm – 4.00pm
At: Irish World Heritage Centre, 1 Irish Town Way, off Queens Road, Cheetham Hill, Manchester M8 0AE
