The Irish World Heritage Centre hosts many events over the year. This page is updated regularly with our forthcoming public events.
The following events are all in our diary. Please read all of the information fully and contact us if you have any queries. It’s also worth keeping an eye on our Facebook page for regular, on the day promotions and updates, too.
Join us on Saturday 18th November, at 7pm, as we host The Manchester Martyr’s Memorial. Damien Quinn, the Irish Ballad Singer and Double D, the Irish Band will be performing from 7pm. Tickets are £10 each, and can be purchased via the link below, in person at the IWHC or you can pay on the door if there are tickets left on the night. The event is in aid of Take the Martyrs Home. We are thrilled to announce that on Sunday 19th November, we are hosting a Vintage Christmas Fair, ran by So Vintage!
Shoppers don’t need to buy a ticket in advance – Entry is £2 per person on the door. Please note: stalls are now sold out.

The Rapparees return to The Irish World heritage Centre on Friday 8th December 2023.
This is the perfect way to celebrate Christmas, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Join us on Sat 16th Dec for Breakfast with Santa!
It’s £10 per person for a cooked breakfast (served carvery style), plus the chance to meet Santa & take photos. Children will get a gift, too. Drinks are not included, but the bar and cafe will be open.
If Adults don’t want to eat, they can opt for a £5 entry-only ticket instead.

The IWHC is opening for Christmas Dinner! Our Sunday Carvery has proven so popular, we are opening on Christmas Day itself, with a set festive menu!
Tables can be reserved from 1pm-3pm, and the bar is open from 11am-6pm – last orders is 5pm.
Please note, Christmas Lunch must be booked and paid for in advance – It’s £60 per adult and £30 per child.

We are having a FREE FIREWORKS DISPLAY on Sunday 5th November 2023 from approximately 7pm!
The Funfair will be open on Saturday 4th Nov from 2pm and Sunday 5th Nov, from 1pm. (The funfair is chargeable).

Brandies Band is a performance made up of sparkling voices, bright melodies and WB Yeats’s greatest poems. They all come together in Yeats to Music.
The performers all love Irish poetry. So much so, they released an album of 10 original folk songs, based on poems by Yeats.
Celebrate the centenary of Yeats being awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature with Brandies Band and the wonderful voices of Factor 7. Sing along with the chorus of Words; be touched by Never Give all the Heart and clap along with The Song of Wandering Aengus. We can’t think of a better way to start off the week than attending this joyful concert.

Join is on Wednesday 27th September 2023 for our Macmillan coffee afternoon. It’s running from 2pm to 5pm, and all proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The money you raise will support Macmillan’s vital work. It helps fund the amazing Macmillan nurses, answer calls on their Support Line, give financial support, and more.

The Trustees of the Irish Diaspora Foundation, supported by the Consulate General of Ireland, invite you to attend an information meeting to discuss the future of the Irish World Heritage Centre in Manchester, and to seek the support of the Irish community.
This meeting is open to everyone. There is no need to RSVP, just come along on the evening. We would also ask that you share this invitation with anyone else you feel would have an interest in attending.
This meeting is being chaired by an Irish Consulate representative.

Join is on Monday 17th July for this FREE Social Media Training session for over 55’s. It’s being ran by the Royal Voluntary Service, so all queries should be directed to them. Booking is essential. Find out more here.
The 2023 IWHC Annual General Meeting is happening at the IWHC Manchester on Thursday 27th April 2023, from 7 pm.

Irish Folk band The Furey’s, will be singing all of their hits in concert at the Irish World Heritage Centre.
PLEASE NOTE: This event was originally scheduled for Thu 2nd Feb 2023, but was rescheduled due to The Kilkennys having another, unavoidable commitment.
The Kilkennys are a traditional Irish folk and ballad band. They are noted for their dynamic arrangements, charismatic rapport and energetic performances with audiences across the globe.
The band began touring Ireland in 1998. They decided to name themselves ‘The Kilkennys’ after their beloved home, Kilkenny City, in 2008.
See them live in the IWHC on Thu 2nd Feb 2023. The show starts at 8.30pm & the bar’s open late!

Join us this Easter Sunday for a Traditional Sunday Roast, between 1-5pm.
BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. Please email bookings@iwhc.com with your party size and your contact details to secure your table. Alternatively, call 0161 697 4105 between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays.
We will be offering a take-away service as well, so if you want a traditional Roast at home this Easter Sunday, without the stress (or washing-up) that comes with making it yourself, contact us to order yours. (Delivery is not available).
The IWHC’s Weekly Car Boot Sale finished on 14th May 2023. Buyers are welcome from 8 am – 1 pm EVERY SUNDAY! The IWHC Gates (and cafe) will be open from 7.30 am to allow sellers to get set up, and ready for customers arriving from 8 am.
You can choose to sell from your car boot on our car park, or use a table in our covered outdoor area to the rear of the IWHC. There are also a limited number of tables available INSIDE the IWHC.
We are celebrating St Patrick’s Day in style this year. We are serving full Irish breakfasts from 9am-4pm, and have live entertainment on from lunch time onwards.
The Funfair will be open from 12pm until 9pm, which is when the bar closes. Kids are permitted inside the IWHC Bar until 7pm.

On Thu 24th Nov, we welcome Devon from the Lake District School of Massage, who will provide a free hands on health massage workshop for over 55’s.
This session teaches you effective ways to relieve back tension, at home. The workshop is great for relieving niggling shoulder knots & to help relieve stress.

A mass will take place here at the Irish World Heritage Centre on Friday 11th November, starting at 7pm.
This mass will be celebrated for all deceased IWHC members. Family and friends of loved ones who have passed away.

The Bloomsday Society will be reading collectively the book which was known as, “The most dangerous Book in the world.” It is, of course Ulysses by James Joyce.
Join us here at The IWHC on the 2nd of October 2022 from 6.30pm until 8.30pm. Have a go at reading the first episode of the book which was banned in the UK and USA, “To protect the delicate sensibilities of female readers”.
From 12pm to 11pm on Saturday 6th August, the Food & Groove Festival will be a day full of music, fun, food, and drink.
This food and music festival has a packed line-up of legendary musicians, fantastic food, and hilarious comedians.

Irish World Heritage Centre 10th August at 6.30pm on the Irish govt Mother & Baby & County Home Redress Scheme.
The event is open to the public, with a particular invitation to anyone who was resident in a Home & maybe eligible to access the scheme.
