Past Irish World Heritage Centre Events

Sorry you missed it! The below events have already happened, but we keep the information here just in case our customers want to reminisce.

The IWHC’s Weekly Car Boot Sale finished on 14th May 2023. Buyers are welcome from 8 am – 1 pm EVERY SUNDAY! The IWHC Gates (and cafe) will be open from 7.30 am to allow sellers to get set up, and ready for customers arriving from 8 am.

You can choose to sell from your car boot on our car park, or use a table in our covered outdoor area to the rear of the IWHC. There are also a limited number of tables available INSIDE the IWHC.

2023 IWHC Annual General Meeting

The 2023 IWHC Annual General Meeting is happening at the IWHC Manchester on Thursday 27th April 2023, from 7 pm.

All IWHC Members, past and present are welcome to attend. You can become an IWHC member by popping into the IWHC and paying the £6 membership fee. This must be done BEFORE the AGM, if you want to attend.

The Fureys.

The Fureys are one of the Irish World Heritage Centre events for 2023

Irish Folk band The Furey’s, will be singing all of their hits in concert at the Irish World Heritage Centre.

The Kilkennys.

The Kilkennys

PLEASE NOTE: This event was originally scheduled for Thu 2nd Feb 2023, but was rescheduled due to The Kilkennys having another, unavoidable commitment.

The Kilkennys are a traditional Irish folk and ballad band. They are noted for their dynamic arrangements, charismatic rapport and energetic performances with audiences across the globe.

The band began touring Ireland in 1998. They decided to name themselves ‘The Kilkennys’ after their beloved home, Kilkenny City, in 2008.

See them live in the IWHC on Thu 2nd Feb 2023. The show starts at 8.30pm & the bar’s open late!

Easter Sunday Carvery

Easter Sunday Roast

Join us this Easter Sunday for a Traditional Sunday Roast, between 1-5pm.

BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. Please email bookings@iwhc.com with your party size and your contact details to secure your table. Alternatively, call 0161 697 4105 between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays.

We will be offering a take-away service as well, so if you want a traditional Roast at home this Easter Sunday, without the stress (or washing-up) that comes with making it yourself, contact us to order yours. (Delivery is not available).

St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick's Day 2023

We are celebrating St Patrick’s Day in style this year. We are serving full Irish breakfasts from 9am-4pm, and have live entertainment on from lunch time onwards.

The Funfair will be open from 12pm until 9pm, which is when the bar closes. Kids are permitted inside the IWHC Bar until 7pm.

Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch

Why not join us this Mother’s Day for a Sunday Roast? Let us take care of the cooking this year. We are serving a 3 course Sunday Roast from 1-5pm. Booking is required, please email bookings@iwhc.com or call 0161 697 4105 to book your table.

St Patrick’s Funfair & Fireworks

We are celebrating St Patrick’s Day early this year, so join us on Saturday 11th March 2023 for our St Patrick’s Funfair and Fireworks event.

The fireworks display is free to attend – no ticket required, and the Funfair will be open from 12pm until 9pm.

We’ve got live entertainment on the night, and food available in the bar. As always, children are permitted inside the IWHC Bar until 7pm.

St Patrick’s Day Parade

Manchester St Patrick's Day Parade

The Manchester St Patrick’s Day parade is back at the Irish World Heritage Centre for 2023!

Planning is now underway, and we will update the website with full information, once the event itinerary is complete.

If you’d like to volunteer or have an input into how the event will be ran this year, head down to the IWHC on Monday 16th January at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.

Fairytale of the Pogues

FAIRYTALE OF POGUES A TRIBUTE BY THE RAPPAREES

This is a Tribute show, performed by The Rapparees

The Rapparees return to The Irish World heritage Centre on Thursday the 22nd December 2022.

Sunday 25th December 2022:
Christmas Dinner @ the IWHC.

Christmas Dinner

The IWHC is opening for Christmas Dinner! Our Sunday Carvery has proven so popular, we are opening on Christmas Day itself, with a set festive menu!

Tables can be reserved from 12pm-4pm, and we will be closing at 6pm.

Please note, Christmas Lunch must be booked and paid for in advance – with payment required by Wednesday 30th November 2022.

Hands on Health – Free Massage Workshop

On Thu 24th Nov, we welcome Devon from the Lake District School of Massage, who will provide a free hands on health massage workshop for over 55’s.

This session teaches you effective ways to relieve back tension, at home. The workshop is great for relieving niggling shoulder knots & to help relieve stress.

Friday 11th Nov 2022 (7pm):
Memorial Mass at the IWHC

A mass will take place here at the Irish World Heritage Centre on Friday 11th November, starting at 7pm.

This mass will be celebrated for all deceased IWHC members. Family and friends of loved ones who have passed away.

If you have lost a loved one and you would like to attend the mass, you are very welcome.

Little Monster’s Ball – SOLD OUT!

Monsters Ball at the IWHC

Why not skip trick-or-treating this year and bring your little monsters to our Little Monsters Ball instead! Join us from 5.30pm on Halloween for ghoulish games, fun and treats!

The Funfair is being ran by Gary Gore, and is located in our large outdoor area.

We are celebrating Bonfire Night early this year, so join us on Saturday 29th October for our annual Funfair and Fireworks event.

The Funfair will be open Thursday & Friday from 5pm, as well as Saturday and Sunday, from 1pm.

Free Street Dance Lesson

Angela, from Angela’s Dance Club will be teaching a free Street Dance lesson to the over 55’s from 2-4pm on Wednesday 12th October, thanks to the Royal Voluntary Service.

Read Ulysses by James Joyce

Ulysses by James Joyce

The Bloomsday Society will be reading collectively the book which was known as, “The most dangerous Book in the world.” It is, of course Ulysses by James Joyce.

Join us here at The IWHC on the 2nd of October 2022 from 6.30pm until 8.30pm. Have a go at reading the first episode of the book which was banned in the UK and USA, “To protect the delicate sensibilities of female readers”.

Food & Groove Festival.

From 12pm to 11pm on Saturday 6th August, the Food & Groove Festival will be a day full of music, fun, food, and drink.

This food and music festival has a packed line-up of legendary musicians, fantastic food, and hilarious comedians.

Wed 10th August 2022:
Irish Community Care’s Frea Event.

Frea will be holding an info session at
Irish World Heritage Centre 10th August at 6.30pm on the Irish govt Mother & Baby & County Home Redress Scheme.

The event is open to the public, with a particular invitation to anyone who was resident in a Home & maybe eligible to access the scheme.
