The Claddagh Association of Adult Irish Dance have enjoyed success dancing at the Irish World Heritage Centre in Manchester for over 25 years.
They are a non profit-making organisation which relies on the collective knowledge and experience of all its members, and classes are taught cooperatively.
Students will learn light and heavy dances (Riverdance style), and ceili (team dancing) which is taught by Chris Mathewson, a TMRF qualified teacher.
In the past, Claddagh ceili teams have entered and been successful in several regional, national and even international competitions.
Our members enjoy a lively social life including meals and theatre trips.
We welcome adult dancers of all abilities, including complete beginners, and we pride ourselves on our friendly, inclusive ethos. (Anyone age 18-100+ is welcome)!
New members may join on the first Monday of every quarter (January, April, July, October) and class fees are £5, payable online.
Classes take place every Monday (apart from Bank Holidays) from 7pm – 9pm.
Soft, comfortable footwear is recommended.
To date, Claddagh have won the All Ireland championships once, the Adult Ceili section of the North West Qualifying three times, and the European Championships once. Not only have Claddagh made a great impression at competitions, they also enjoy a great social life.
So whether you want to join an adult Irish Dance class just for fun, or want to work towards competitions and social functions, Claddagh is a great place to go. So if you’re looking to join a very welcoming class, with a friendly atmosphere, why not come along on the first Monday of January, April, July or October to get started.
