If you’re looking for a Children’s Irish Dance class in Manchester, the Irish World Heritage Centre can help!
Justine Ward-Mallinson welcomes young dancers of any level of ability to learn Irish Dancing, including complete beginners. Children from age 4 are welcome. Her classes involve learning dances such as the reel, the jig, the slip jig, and the hornpipe.
On Mondays, beginners age 4+ are welcome from 6pm – 7pm. From 7pm to 8.30pm, it’s time more experienced dancers to practice.
On Tuesdays, the age 4+ beginners class runs from 6pm – 7pm. From 7pm to 8.30pm, it’s an open dancers session.
There’s no upper age limit on these classes, so adults can dance too!

There is plenty of free parking at the Irish World Heritage Centre, and we are located right next door to Queens Road Metrolink Station.
The IWHC hosts a highly regarded Irish Language Class. The Irish language is regarded as the oldest European language, and is both beautiful and unique. With Conradh Na Gaeilge Manchain (Manchester Irish Language), you can learn the basics, improve your Irish or practice your oral skills. All levels are catered for.
Conradh na Gaeilge Manchain (The Manchester Irish League) has lessons for those wishing to learn the Irish language here at the Irish World Heritage Centre. It’s £3 per session, and runs from 7.30pm-9pm every Tuesday evening.
Whether you know some Irish and are looking to improve it, or you are an absolute beginner, we can help open up a new world for you. Lessons are designed for all levels, including pronunciation, useful phrases, conversation, and a little grammar.
For absolute beginners, we will be repeating much of the content in the subsequent weeks to help everyone adjust and feel comfortable in the language.
Other streams include lower intermediate (those with some knowledge of Irish), upper intermediate (signifiicant knowledge) and advanced (those all but fluent).
Classes are held on the upper floor of the IWHC from 7.30pm to 9pm every Tuesday, and it’s £3 per person, per session. The daily program guide near reception informs you of the exact room. Bring anyone along you think may be interested. All are most welcome and we strive to help each other.

The Manchester Community Pipe Band is a non profit organisation which caters for experienced pipe and drum players, as well as beginners.
Classes are held every Tuesday, from 7pm – 9pm at the IWHC Manchester, and are free to attend.
Please note, drums can be loaned to all new players. In some circumstances, bagpipes can be made available for children to practice on. (On a loaned basis). Adults would need to supply their own bagpipes.
Uniforms will be provided once players are ready to join in with parades or private bookings.
