The Manchester St Patrick’s Day Parade 2023 was back at the Irish World Heritage Centre this year! The parade left from The Irish World Heritage Centre on Sunday 12th March 2023, and there was a full day of celebrations.
This year’s parade returned to the old, shorter route. it left the IWHC, turned Left onto Queens Road, then left onto Cheetham Hill Road. The parade then went straight up to the AO Arena, before turning round, and heading back to the IWHC. The parade route was 2.5 miles long, and took around 2 hours to complete.
Queens Road and Cheetham Hill road were closed along the parade route from 11.30am-2pm.
Parade attendees had the chance to carry their County’s flag. They were allocated on a first come first served basis, and lots of parade attendees loved carrying them.
We asked groups who wanted to register a parade float to email bookings@iwhc.com with their information and contact details – We welcomed groups from all communities, who wanted to join in the celebrations. It was wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate St Patrick.
The IWHC was packed out all day. The entertainment kept the party atmosphere going all day, and it was a great craic. Last orders was called at 7pm, and the day ended on a huge high.
We’d just like to thank everyone who took part in the parade, watched it, and came back to the IWHC as well. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.
